Co-founder of THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT dies

On Wednesday 2 December Eric WOOLFSON (1945-2009), co-founder, songwriter and lyricist of the British rockband The Alan Parsons Project, died of cancer. He reached the age of 64.
From 1975 to 1987 Woolfson collaborated with Alan Parsons on the conception and lyrics of all ten albums by The Alan Parsons Project, which have achieved worldwide sales in excess of 40 million. They wrote hits like Old and wise and Don’t answer me. Woolfson also wrote songs for other artists, like Tomorrow’s calling (for Marianne Faithfull).
After splitting up with Parsons, Woolfson started to write for musical theatre. His first musical premiered in Vienna in 1990: Freudiana. His last musical, Edgar Allan Poe, premiered on March 27 in Berlin.
